Master in Computer Application(MCA)

Objective of MCA programme

  • The objective of our MCA programme is in alignment with the institute’s vision i.e., is to develop into a World Class Center for Technical Education.
  • Our MCA programme thrives to educate and prepare the students from a wide variety of backgrounds with essential technical skills needed to effectively solve problem and lead organizations.
  • Upon the completion of the MCA programme the students will develop an understanding of the diverse and rapidly changing global technical environment and will possess the necessary skills to identify professional issues in a variety of contexts.
  • Hands-on learning experiences combined with practical classroom instruction provide students with the essential technical skills to apply problem-solving techniques, using both quantitative and qualitative analysis to technical issues.

  • Affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha. The only Technical University of the state.

Admission Procedures:for both (MCA-Reguler and MCA-LE)

  • Selection Process: OJEE Counselling.

Master in Computer Application Lateral Entry(MCA-LE)-2 Years Full Time.

  • Eligibility: Passed or appearing bachelor's Degree examination of minimum three years duration in BCA, B.Sc.(IT/ Computer Science/IST/ITM) from any University of Odisha or from a recognized University as defined by UGC and must have passed in Mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at graduate level. Business Mathematics at +2 is not permitted. The candidate should have obtained at least 50%(45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST catagory) at the qualifying Examination.
  • Entrance Examination: Candidate aspiring for admission into MCA-LE Course, must have qualified in ODISHA JOINT ENTRANCE(OJEE) Examination

Master in Computer Application(MCA)-3 Years Full Time.

  • Eligibility: Any graduate with pure Mathematics in 10+2 level or in degree and qualified in OJEE / NIMCET. The candidate should have obtained at least 50%(45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST catagory) at the qualifying examination.
  • Entrance Examination: Candidate aspiring for admission into MCA Course, must have qualified in ODISHA JOINT ENTRANCE(OJEE) Examination/NIMCET

Grading System :

  • A Seven Point grading system on base of 10 shall be followed in the University. Categorisation of these grade and their correlation shall be as under :

    • University Semester Examination of 3 Hours Duration
    • Pass Mark will be 35% which means students have to score 35 out of 100
  • Practical/Sessional Evaluation Scheme:

    Pass mark will be 50% which means students have to score 25 out of 50.

  • All Lab examinations are to be completed one week before the end semester examination and marks are to be displayed on the college notice board.
  • Students are to be shown their copies and marks within 15 days of any Internal Examination. For each internal examination secured marks are to be displayed in the college notice board.
  • Highest mark secured must be displayed with name.
  • Every month the attendance must be displayed with name.
  • At least three student feedbacks are to be collected. (After one month of teaching, after Class Test-II and after completion of course and before end semester examination.)
  • Remedial classes if conducted must be shown as the part of the Time table and attendance record to be maintained.
