Objective of BJMC Program

With emerging media scenario around the world, a course like journalism and mass communication can only bolster the growing needs of a media organization. The subject of Journalism and Mass Communication is a perfect blend of theoretical and practical components. It is a full time, under graduate programme intends to give a real picture of working of media in the civil society. The course content helps students to look within the context and understand the basics of Print, TV, Radio, Event management, public relation and new media. The modules have been crafted as per the standards from fundamental to highly advanced level of learning. The course prepares the students to understand the basic principles of communication and its responsibilities towards the society, mass media and its convergence, responsive journalistic etiquettes, learning public relation skills, advertising grammar, maintaining ethical standards and tapping the new media for a digital growth.

To achieve this mission, the B-School:

• Develops a balanced blend of current market requirements into teaching pedagogy that advances current knowledge within our academic discipline to meet market challenges.

• Provides high-quality degree programs that feature innovative teaching methodsand technologiesthatemphasize practical orientation making students Industry ready.

• Creates a stimulating working and learning environment by actively promoting interaction between the School and corporate and by engaging students and all other stakeholders in the development of the School.

• Promoting the convergence of quality assurance processes through cooperation between relevant accreditation ranking agencies like NAAC and universities.

Status: Affiliated to Sambalpur University, Odisha.

Eligibility: The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination in any discipline with minimum 45% marks. The candidates with valid UGAT(Under Graguate Aptitude Test) score will be preferred and for them eligibility percentage is relaxed for BBA programme.

Course Duration And Intake Capacity: Our BJMC is undergraduate programme under Sambalpur University for three years duration. After each academic year we have one end term university examination.
